# Archie FAQ: Pricing, plans, and AI credits

> Archie's Free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise plans, how AI credits work, top-ups, rollover, annual billing, and cancellation.

How Archie's plans and AI credits work. For full plan details and every price, see [Plans and credits](/docs/introduction/getting-started/plans-and-credits).

## How much does Archie cost?

Archie has four plans:

* **Free** — \$0, no credit card required.
* **Pro** — starts at \$25/month for a single builder and scales through a credit selector up to \$1,500/month.
* **Team** — \$30 per seat per month, for 5 to 25 seats, with pooled credits.
* **Enterprise** — custom pricing for organizations that need compliance, SSO, and dedicated support.

Every app also runs on an [Archie Core backend](/docs/introduction/getting-started/plans-and-credits#archie-core-backends). Pro includes one Starter backend, Team includes three, and Enterprise includes unlimited backends.

## Does Archie have a free plan?

Yes. Free lets you generate a full plan and an interactive prototype, with 50 AI credits per month, unlimited projects, and unlimited viewers. You can export your plan as a PDF. To turn your prototype into a real, deployed application, upgrade to Pro.

## Is there a free trial of Pro?

The Free plan is the trial. You get the full plan and prototype experience without paying anything, and you upgrade only when you're ready to turn your prototype into a real application.

## What are AI credits, and how do they work?

AI credits are what you spend on AI-assisted work: generating a plan, a prototype, or an app, AI-driven edits, and generating a data model or seed data. Each task uses credits based on how complex it is, and heavier tasks show their estimated cost before they run — no surprises. Manual edits in the visual editor or IDE, deploying, exporting code to GitHub, and inviting collaborators are always free. See [AI credits](/docs/introduction/getting-started/plans-and-credits#ai-credits).

## Where can I see how many credits I have left?

Your remaining credits are shown in the top right of the Archie app and on your account page. Your project's activity feed records every credit spend.

## What happens when I run out of AI credits?

Your completed work is preserved, and manual editing still works. Only new AI tasks pause. To keep going, buy a top-up pack, move to a higher credit level on Pro, or wait for your credits to renew.

## Can I buy more credits without changing plans?

Yes. Top-up packs start at \$15. They're one-time purchases that stack on top of your monthly credits and never expire while your subscription is active. If you're buying top-ups regularly, a higher credit level on Pro is cheaper per credit.

## Do unused credits roll over?

Yes, within a window. On monthly plans, unused credits roll over for one billing cycle. On annual plans, they roll over for three. Top-up credits never expire while your subscription is active.

## Can I change plans or credit levels later?

Yes. Moving up within Pro takes effect immediately with pro-rated billing, so you get the extra credits right away. Moving down takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Upgrades from Pro to Team or Enterprise happen in your account settings.

## What is the prototype-to-app conversion fee?

When you upgrade to Pro and convert your prototype into a real, deployed application, there is a one-time conversion fee based on the scope of your app — the number of screens, data models, and integrations. This fee is separate from your monthly subscription, so your monthly credits stay available for ongoing development after conversion. Enterprise plans include unlimited conversions.

## Does Archie offer annual plans?

Yes. Annual plans are 20% cheaper than monthly. Annual subscribers also get a longer credit rollover window — three billing cycles instead of one — which helps if you build in bursts.

## What happens to my app if I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel any time from your account settings. Your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing cycle. Your plans and code stay yours: after you move to Free, your deployed apps stay live until the billing cycle ends, and after that you need Pro or higher to keep them deployed. You can export your code to GitHub at any time.
